Lecture Summary

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) refer to a sudden reduction in blood supply to the heart muscle due to ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), non-STEMI (NSTEMI), or unstable angina. Each year, an estimated more than 7 million people in the world are diagnosed with ACS, with a significant proportion dying before hospital discharge. This presentation will cover the assessment and diagnosis of patients with suspected acute coronary syndromes, and aspects of early management for those patients with this condition.
