Lecture Summary

Leadership in emergency medicine is not a matter of chance. Good leadership requires specific training, skills and mentorship. Recruiting good followers is equally important. Many colleagues have failed, not because of lack of aptitude but because of poor guidance on how to develop a team and hone necessary skills. Do not take on a leadership position without a well thought out plan.
