The presentation has been developed by the Radiotherapy Multi-Disciplinary team at the North West Cancer Centre (NWCC), Londonderry/Derry, Northern Ireland. The presentation provides and overview of radiotherapy treatment and management of side-effects. The NWCC delivers the majority of radiotherapy treatment in an out-patient setting, with 84% of patients attending daily for treatment and 16% of patients requiring admission for in-patient treatment and supportive care. The Radiotherapy team comprises of Clinical Oncologists, Therapeutic Radiographers, and Radiotherapy Nurses, Medical Physics Team (Scientists, Treatment Planners and Dosimetrists). The radiotherapy team work closely with Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Dietitians to provide a holistic treatment and follow-up pathway for patients.
