Dan Harvey

National Lead for Innovation & Research in Organ Donation

Dr. Dan Harvey is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at Nottingham University Hospitals, and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham. He is a member of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine’s Professional Standards Committee, and an author of their GPICS guidelines. He chaired a consensus group on behalf of the FICM which recently published guidance on the management of perceived devastating brain injury.  He is Specialty Lead for Critical Care Research in the East Midlands and Vice Chair of the National Critical Care Group of the National Institute of Health Research. As National Clinical Education Lead for Organ Donation for the UK’s NHS Blood & Transplant he has pioneered simulation training in organ donation with a particular interest in ethical decision making & critical care practice
