I am an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, but I have been part of the UMEM family in many roles.
I joined the University of Maryland Emergency Medicine (UMEM) Residency program in 2010, followed by a Faculty Development fellowship, and the ACEP Teaching Fellowship.
Prior to joining UMEM, I completed my medical degree at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a beautiful city on the Red Sea, where I was born and raised.
I am currently a nocturnist, which surprisingly allows me more time to be involved in medical education, whether in the form of lecturing, podcasting, simulation, writing, or involvement in national committees. I love to teach about clinical topics (such as geriatric emergencies), and I’m also fascinated by the science of teaching and learning. In fact, my passion has led me to pursue a Master’s of Education in Health Professions, and I can’t wait to graduate. In my free time, I love to cook, travel, eat, read, and learn new skills (such as how to find time for all my existing interests).
