Eugene Mondor

Critical Care Nurse Educator, Alberta, Canada

Eugene Mondor has been a nurse for over 33 years, of which the past 24 years within adult Critical Care.

Eugene graduated with honours from Brandon General Hospital School of Nursing, in Brandon, Manitoba, in 1987. He obtained his Baccalaureate of Nursing from the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1994, followed by his Certificate in Adult Critical Care Nursing from Mount Royal College in Calgary in 1996; both received with honours.

While working within the Intensive Care, Eugene earned his Master of Nursing from the University of Alberta in 2004. His thesis “Knowledge Acquisition, Knowledge Retention, and Job Satisfaction of Critical Care Nurses” has helped him identify how nurses learn, what they learn, but more importantly, has enhanced a deeper understanding and appreciation of both teaching and learning outcomes.

Eugene has been a Clinical Nurse Educator in adult Critical Care for over 15 years, and, is a BLS and ACLS instructor. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. He is a published author, has written for three nursing textbooks, and has presented at conferences across Canada, the United States and the Middle East.
