Matthew Douma is a Registered Nurse and Resuscitation Scientist based in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. He is employed by Alberta Health Services as a Clinical Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and holds an Assistant Adjunct Professor appointment with the Department of Critical Care Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. His Doctoral studies, through the University College Dublin, are focused on quality within cardiac arrest care from the perspective of patients/families, providers and the system. He is also a committee member of the Canadian Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium, he edits the Canadian Journal of Emergency Nursing and is an advisor on the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Resuscitation Advisory Committee.
