Sybil Hoiss

Leader of Strategic Initiatives, British Columbia Patient Safety & Quality Council

Sybil has been a critical care nurse in British Columbia, Canada, for 11 years. She has worked as a clinical instructor, ICU/HAU educator, and a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Sybil is the current President of the BC Chapter of the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses. Throughout this time, Sybil has championed preceptor development and practice, providing resources and encouragement to create a culture of learning on units and shared resources across practice areas. This was her area of focus while studying at Athabasca University for a Masters degree in Nursing with a teaching focus. Sybil has recently joined the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council as Leader of Strategic Initiatives, working with health authority representatives to build Quality Standards across several practice areas.
